Optimetriks is an East Africa based start-up whose innovative solutions enable FMCG companies operating in Africa to get a tighter control over their distribution networks and to gather insights on shop location, product availability, price and merchandising compliance. In a context where 90% of the retail sales happen in informal shops, having granular and independent data of high quality is key to succeed.
We rely on an a community of contributors, paid per missions, in a crowdsourced mode, to collect the data on the ground. We are building our own data collection platform, from our Android application, to data verification algorithms and visualisation dashboard. We have just won a significant grant from the GSMA Ecosystem Accelerator Innovation Fund to scale to new countries and need smart talents to contribute to that expansion.
